Interior of the High Prairie MuseumSpecial events at the High Prairie and District Museum include the Strawberry Tea, held in May. The tea is arranged to acknowledge special individuals or groups in the community. A Penny Carnival is also held each year featuring games and fun for children of all ages for only the cost of a few pennies. Another special feature of the Museum is a travelling exhibit of the Grouard-Peace River Trail.

The Museum is open year round. Summer hours are in effect from June to September, running Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Winter hours are in effect from October to May, running Thursday to Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
