Displays
The Kinosayo Museum carries a collection of over
3,000 artifacts that focus on the natural history of the area as well
as the social. Usually about 75 percent of the collection is on
display in the museum at any one time.
Taxidermy Display:
One of the most popular areas of the museum is a
taxidermy display of the various wildlife species that can be found in
the area. A variety of fish, birds, and wild animals are represented
in the collection. A Great Plains Grizzly diorama is one of the big
draws in the display.
Local Commerce Collection:
Other pieces in the museum collection focus more
upon the history of Kinusayo and its people. Fur trade artifacts, as
well as displays representing the history of various local businesses
in the region, can be experienced by the visitor.
Archival Collections:
Visitors seeking a more personal glimpse of the
past can find archival material on site. Oral histories and diaries
are some of the objects that comprise this part of the museum's
collection.
