Western Hognose Snake

Management

Plains Hognose SnakeAttempts to understand, and subsequently manage, populations of the Plains Hognose Snake have been nearly non-existent in Alberta, due largely to the difficulty in collecting meaningful data on this species.  This situation is changing, as a number of recently initiated projects, such as poster campaigns and studies at various spots across the province, are providing new insights into the natural history of this snake.
