Implications and Contentions
As time passes, the task of understanding the terms outlined within treaty 6 becomes increasingly
difficult. The intentions and relevance of the contents of Treaty 6 are a continual source of debate
and controversy. In this section, we will examine of some of the implications and contested realities
associated with Treaty 6 by exploring topics such as land claims,
residential schools, missionary activity,
reserves, and Aboriginal relations
with the government.
