Geological Wonders in Alberta

A Traveller's Guide to Geological Wonders in Alberta is an excellent resource for those that are curious about the land formations and unique sites within Alberta. Within the book are over 100 in-depth overviews of some of the most breath-taking locations within Alberta, complete with detailed maps, color pictures and valuable information.

The excerpts on this website are only a preview of the vast information in the book. The book is divided up into sections according to the six tourism destination regions of Alberta.

The book was written by Ron Mussieux and Marilyn Nelson. Ron Mussieux is the Curator of Geology at the Provincial Museum of Alberta, and is a contributor to geological education throughout Edmonton and Alberta.

Marilyn Nelson is an Edmonton-area geologist that has worked with the Museum on a variety of Geology projects over the last 15 years.

The book was produced by the Provincial Museum of Alberta,  and copublished by the Federation of Alberta Naturalists and the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. Also, it was given support by Alberta Community Development.

Copies of A Traveller's Guide to Geological Wonders in Alberta may be purchased at the Provincial Museum of Alberta, select local Edmonton bookstores or by contacting the Federation of Alberta Naturalists.
