Mean annual precipitation ranges from 650 millimetres in the far south to 500
millimetres in the northern part of the subregion. The average May - September precipitation is
approximately 290 millimeters. Temperature change is significant
season to season with the average temperature in January around 1 degrees Celsius and
around 14 degrees Celsius at the height of summer in July. The mean May - September temperature
sits at about 12-13 degrees Celsius while the region experiences
approximately 90 frost-free days each year.
