Wolverine
Management
The Wolverine is classified as a fur-bearer, which allows for limited management by means of harvest quotas, closures and regulated trapping seasons.
Currently, the season is restricted to November through January in most areas, which corresponds to the period when the fur is in prime
condition. As well, there is an official quota of one animal per Registered Fur Management Area in most Fur Management Zones to allow problem animals to be removed.
Other than population management through harvest regulations, there have been no specific research or management activities focusing on the Wolverine in Alberta.
