Kootenay Plains

Kootenay PlainsThe Kootenay Plains, west of Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg, are seen as a sacred place to many of the Aboriginal and Métis communities, not only in Alberta, but throughout Canada and the Northern States. The Sacred Ceremony of the Sundance has been held here for many years. It is also a place of solemn pilgrimage, where individuals may come for healing and to commit themselves to a better life.
