Louis RielWhile Louis Riel is undoubtedly one of the most famous Métis in Canadian history, most overlook the works of other Métis, such as Adrian Hope and Peter Erasmus, who have helped shaped Alberta and its communities. In this section, we will look at the Métis communities in Alberta, from the well-known ones such as Victoria Settlement, to the lesser-known ones such as Red Deer Forks. We will also learn about the Issues and Challenges the Métis faced in the 20th century, and about some of the important Métis people in Canadian history.
