Badlands

The Badlands of Alberta have been scoured by water, wind and sand creating fantastically shaped crevices, cornices and cliffs, as well as the Hoodoos which Alberta is famous for.

The name badlands may come from the French "mauvaise terre" or "bad earth" because the Badlands are not arable, or in other words, worthless for farming.
