Camrose is a small town between Red Deer and Edmonton. I bet you did not know that it used to be called "Sparling"! In 1905 the town was originally named Sparling, after the Reverend Dr. Sparling from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Because there was already towns named Sterling and Sperling in Alberta, in 1955 the town was officially renamed Camrose.
