Sweet Grass, Plains Cree Negotiator

Sweet Grass was the first person to propose measures to save the buffalo from extinction during the Treaty 6 negotiations in 1876. Thanks in part to his efforts, towards the end of 1876 Lieutenant Governor David Laird passed the Ordinance of Protection for the buffalo.
