Self-Determination

the freedom to live and act as one chooses without having to consult or ask permission of others or the freedom of a people to decide their own allegiance or form of government. (Canadian Oxford Dictionary)

Sovereign Rights

A term that refers to a persons right to rule itself without external control.

Specific Land Claims

Specific claims deal with script, treaties and band claims. Specific claims generally refer to a specific element of one of the above such as a clause in a treaty.
