Site of the Hudson Bay Company's Buckingham House
Cairn commemorating Buckingham House. Plaque reads:
Constructed by William Tomison of Hudson's Bay Company in 1792 to compete with NWCO's Fort George for Indian trade.
Although in competition, the forts used a common well and always stood ready to defend each other.
This post was temporarily abandoned in 1799 and finally closed in 1802.
