Franco-Alberta Header

Franco-Albertan flag

In 1982, Jean Pierre Grenier designed the Franco-Albertan flag. The white fleur-de-lys in the upper left-hand corner represents the French origins of the population. The blue and white stripes represent the waters and roads travelled by the first French explorers and settlers. The wild rose, the floral emblem, stands for the province of Alberta. The blue background represents the French origins of the Franco-Albertans, and the white their Roman Catholic faith.
