Heritage Trails

Japanese people began migrating to the prairies in the early 1900s. The festival honours the people that have gone before them. Listen to this Heritage Trail!

Buddhists have a mid-winter celebration called the Feast of Enlightenment. This celebration holds many similarities to Christmas, the holiday of Christian faith. One striking similarity is the Buddhist Tree of Enlightenment, which bears a strong resemblance to the Christian Christmas tree.
