Alberta Aviation Museum Tour

Didier Masson

Dider MassonDidier Masson was a French pilot, and, like others of his time, was known as a daredevil.

Early in 1911, he travelled from Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was living, to San Francisco where he worked with two mechanics, James Archibald and Jules Brille, to construct the Curtiss type biplane. Not long after learning how to fly, Masson travelled to Alberta to demonstrate flight.

He flew a Curtiss Golden Flyer in 1911 when he unsuccessfully attempted to fly from Calgary to Edmonton carrying the mail.
