Celebrating Bush Pilots

 

A tribute to the Bush Pilots of Canada, The province of Alberta and the City of Edmonton in this the Fiftieth year of Aviation Achievement is Western Canada. This is a framed certificate from the Edmonton Flying Club, Klondike Days Fly-In, July 20, 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta. This certificate has been signed by Prime Minister of Canada, Lt. Governor of Alberta, Premier of Alberta, Mayor of Edmonton, and the Mayor of Calgary, also eight more signatures of bush pilots including Matt Berry, Stan McMullen, W. Leigh Brintnell, H. Marsh and Maxwell Ward. Certificate is in a black wooden frame measuring 12 5/8 inches wide by 10 3/4 inches high. On the back of the framed certificate is written the following "2003 - On permanent loan from Garnet Anthony - Moncton Commercial QMC 7083, 27 Sycamore St. Sherwood Park, AB T8A 2O1 467-7347 signed Garnet Anthony. After that notation there is another notation that states the following " Names gathered at luncheon by Garnet, at luncheon as a reporter for CBC Radio as luncheon broke up Garnet was able to get these aviation pioneers to sign as everyone was leaving, the last time so many were in one place" initialed by Garnet Anthony.
