After the Second World War, the British Commonwealth Air
Training Program left behind equipment and facilities that many
hoped would continue Canada’s inspired aviation beginnings.
Those individuals that had started private enterprises before
and during WWII were no longer held hostage by the war machine’s
demand for all available aviation resources.
People were optimistic about Canada’s aviation industry.
Individual aviators and business visionaries carved out niches
for themselves by branching into areas of the globe that were
previously inaccessible and by providing services to meet the
growing demand for fast, economical civilian transportation.
