An interesting, and amusing story, about Vera’s time as a flight instructor in Edmonton. A student could not find the Edmonton airport in the falling darkness. Vera took off to find the student and guide him to the airfield. They had all of their running and landing lights going. The next day the Edmonton Journal reported that numerous people had reported a UFO in the air over Edmonton. She called the Journal the next day to explain the real cause for the strange lights, but the paper never did correct the story.
