Landing in the Spring One of the jobs that Harold had to undertake regularly was to fly the Norseman into remote locations, airlifting on medical supplies and personnel and taking patients out. In this story he recounts a time when an RCMP constable at Coppermine needed to be taken to a hospital. It was during the spring break-up, which posed a number of problems for aircraft on landings and take-offs. He was able to locate a small stretch of open water to land the plane, which was on floats at the time. |
