This is a photo of the first jump out of a Norseman, landing at Cooking Lake airstrip in January 1944. These are the only pictures known to exist of the first jump of Canada's Air Sea Rescue unit, the brain child of W. R. "Wop" May. Photo by Cedric Mah. The picture and brushed silver metal frame measures 14 inches by 10 inches.

There is also the signature of Governor General Tweedsmuir in the upper left hand corner of the Certificate of Commission.
