1. In a jamb structure having a framing member and a wall member in contiguous relation thereto, a metal strip having first and second longitudinal sections in angular relation to each other said framing member having a longitudinally extending groove therein, the edge portion of said first section being located in said groove, said second section being secured to said wall member and being offset from the adjacent edge of said first section to provide a longitudinal lip protruding outwardly from said second section.

2. A jamb structure as defined in claim 1, said edge portion of said first section having a part doubled upon itself to provide a snug fit in said groove.

3. In a jamb structure having a framing member and a wall member in contiguous relation thereto, a unitary metal strip having first and second longitudinal sections in angular relation to each other, said framing member having a longitudinally extending saw cut in the edge thereof and spaced from the comers thereof, the edge portion of said first section being located snugly in said groove, said second section being nailed to said wall member and being offset from the adjacent edge of said first section to provide a longitudinal lip protruding outwardly from said second section.

4. A jamb structure as defined in claim 3, including a plaster coat on said second section and wall member having a thickness approximately equal to the width of said lip.
