1. A dry wall taper and mastic applicator comprising an elongated mastic-receiving barrel, a mastic-ejecting piston slidably mounted in said barrel, and a housing mounted on one end of said barrel and forming a mastic-receiving chamber communicating with the interior of said barrel, said housing having therein a tape inlet, a tape outlet, and a pair of spaced opposed tape guide plates extending substantially from said inlet to said outlet, and denning a tape passage therebetween and upper and lower compartments in said chamber, said chamber having mastic flow passages extending from one to the other of said compartments, each said plate having tape-exposing openings therein.

A dry wall taper and mastic applicator comprising an elongated mastic-receiving barrel, a mastic-ejecting piston slidably mounted in said barrel, a housing mounted on one end of said barrel and forming a mastic-receiving chamber communicating with the interior of said barrel, said housing having therein a tape inlet and a tape outlet and a pair of spaced opposed tape guide plates extending substantially from said inlet to said outlet and denning a tape passage therebetween and upper and lower compartments in said chamber, said chamber having mastic flow passages extending from one to the other of said compartments, each said plate having tape-exposing openings therein, a tape-engageable wheel rotatably carried by said barrel, a rack fixed to and extending axially from said piston in said barrel, gear mechanism connected to said rack for reciprocating aid rack and piston, and a flexible drive shaft drivably connecting said wheel and gear mechanism.
