Claim.—1. In a coal cutting machine, a split casing bolted together and enclosing a longitudinal worm, gear wheels engaging said worm and mounted on shafts connected to augers extending beyond the casing and means of revolving the longitudinal worm.
2. In a coal cutting machine, a split casing bolted together and enclosing a longitudinal worm, augers operated by said worm and having at their ends drills and cutting tools suitably fastened by adjusting clamps.
3. In a coal cutting machine, a split casing bolted together and being supported by means of shafts projecting from same, said shafts being held in bearing attached to diamond shaped strap which is attached to and supported by an anchor column.
