Aircraft Repair Limited, assignee of Wilfred Leigh Brintnell, both of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 8th April, 1941. Filed 9th December, 1939. Serial No. 469,436.

Claim.—1. A ski mechanism for aircraft as described, a yoke hingedly connected to a wheel axle lug at either side of a wheel of an aircraft undercarriage and hingedly connected to a bracket on the ski, a cable connecting the said wheel axle to the said ski, said cable lying in a substantially plumb position and check cables fore and aft of the ski.

2. A ski mechanism for aircraft as described, a yoke comprising two tubular members and a plate therebetween and welded thereto, the extremities of the said tubes being hingedly secured to the wheel axle of an aircraft undercarriage, a cable in substantially plumb position connected to the said wheel axle and the said ski and check cables fore and aft of the ski.

3. A ski mechanism for aircraft as described, a yoke consisting of two tubular members and an enclosed plate therebetween welded to the top and bottom surfaces of the said tubular members, said plate being curved at one side to lie closely about an aircraft wheel, lugs having flanges extending therefrom on the wheel axle on either side of the wheel, one flange adapted to receive the upper extremity of the tubular members, the other flange to receive a cable shackle, and a fitting on the ski to receive the opposite extremity of a cable positioned therebetween, brackets on the said ski adapted to receive the opposite extremities of the said tubular members, bevelled blocks abutting the aircraft wheels secured to the said ski and check cables fore and aft of the said ski control the trim thereof.

4. A ski mechanism for aircraft as decribed, a yoke consisting of two tubular members and an enclosed plate therebetween welded to the top and bottom surfaces of the said tubular member, said plate being curved at one side to lie closely about an aircraft wheel, a flange at one end of each of the tubular members to receive a cable shackle and a fitting on the ski to receive the opposite extremity of a cable positioned therebetween, fittings on the ski to receive one extremity of each of the tubular members, opposite extremities being secured to the wheel axle, check cables fore and aft of the said ski.
