The Oil Sands Discovery Centre

Located in Fort McMurray, the Oil Sands Discovery Centre is a world-class science centre profiling the Alberta oilsands industry. If you want to know more about innovation within the oilsands, the discovery centre is a stop you must make. To give you a taste of what they have on offer, watch the movie "Quest for Energy." This documentary is currently being updated to reflect the current oilsands boom, because the last images of the film are out of date. Things progress that fast in the oilsands industry!

The centre has divided their facilities into sections reflecting the process of, and innovation that has taken place in, oil extraction. Take our virtual tour and have a look at the centre, which won a Premier’s Award for Innovation Excellence.
