The Project Team

Adriana A. Davies, Ph.D., Executive Director, Heritage Community Foundation

Adriana is a material culture specialist and was the Science, Technology, Industry and Material Culture editor of The Canadian Encyclopedia. She has worked in the heritage field for more than 25 years as a researcher, Executive Director of Museums Alberta and as the Executive Director of the Heritage Community Foundation. She has developed, resourced and implemented a range of website development and cultural digitization projects.

David Ridley, B.Ed., M.T., Director of Research and Learning, Heritage Community Foundation

David is a former Research Associate at the Provincial Museum of Alberta. He is a specialist in community studies and has done extensive oral history work with David Goa, Curator of Folk and Religious Life, with respect to the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Alberta's Islamic community and other ethnocultural communities. He was the senior researcher in the Central Alberta Regional Museums Network Aspenland 1998 Project.

Michael Flewwelling, B.A. and B.Ed., Heritage Learning Co-ordinator

Michael is a University of Lethbridge graduate in Arts and Education. He has worked on a number of Heritage Community Foundation websites and has co-ordinated development of the digital edukit and game for this site. 

Shazia Sabir, B.Ed., Learning Program Researcher

Shazia is a B.Ed. graduate of the University of Alberta and has worked for the Heritage Community Foundation since September 2001. She has contributed to the Alex Decoteau Edukit and the Alberta's Petroleum Heritage Edukit as well as a range of other websites. She has undertaken historical research for this website as well as assisting in the development of the digital edukit and game.

Jennifer Lee, Research Assistant

Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Arts and has worked on the Heritage Community Foundation's Methodist Missionaries website as well as The Women of Aspenland.  She is currently working on her Masters in History at the University of British Columbia.

Kim Palmer, B.A., M.A., Web Projects Manager/Senior Webmaster, Heritage Community Foundation

Kim began work with the Heritage Community Foundation as an intern and has worked as a contractor on the majority of the Foundation's web projects. She is currently finishing the Computer Systems Technology diploma at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She has both content and technical expertise and has been hired to lead digitization projects.

Davor Babic, Network Administrator and Systems Manager, Heritage Community Foundation

Davor Babic has worked for the Heritage Community Foundation since April 2001 on a range of website development projects as senior programmer. He is responsible for developing, testing and implementing the site database.

Shawn Blais, Webmaster

Shawn Blais has worked for the Heritage Community Foundation since August 2001 on a range of website development projects as webmaster. He is responsible for developing, testing and implementing the site database; digitizing oral histories; implementing graphic and database design; creating metadata and ensuring proper cataloguing and indexing; and providing quality assurance testing.

Ryan Majeau, B.Des, Junior Webmaster, Heritage Community Foundation

Ryan has worked with the Heritage Community Foundation since May 2002. He has a Bachelor of Design from the University of Alberta and has extensive experience in 3-D modeling, graphic design and layout.

Lorne Tessier, Junior Webmaster, Heritage Community Foundation

Lorne has just begun work as an intern with the Foundation. He is currently working towards a Bachelor of Applied Information System Technology at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and has experience in systems analysis and programming for the web.

Dwayne Lessner, B.Tech, Junior Programmer

Dwayne first begun work as an intern with the Foundation. He has just recently completed his Bachelor of Applied Information Systems Technology with honours  from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and has extensive knowledge and experience in working with multiple web development software packages including FrontPage, JavaScript, SQL, Access, VB and COM. Know Dwayne is Senior Webmaster now at the Foundation and provides other web consulting with Nano Response.

Nicolas de Boon, Junior Programmer

Nicolas is a NAIT graduate and practicum student with the Heritage Community Foundation.

Roger MacLean, Junior Programmer

Roger is a NAIT graduate and practicum student with the Heritage Community Foundation.

Kathy Vaughan, Web Technical Assistant/Translator

Kathy has just begun work with the Foundation as a web technical assistant and translator. She is a NAIT Computer Systems Technology graduate with honours and has experience in creating web sites.

Dr. Juliette Champagne, Translator

Juliette is a translator for the Heritage Community Foundation.
