Description: Claim
1. A counter comprising a casing having a slotted opening through the front thereof, a disc rotatably ranged in said casing and having figures arranged in concentric circles, and means interposed between said disc and the slot in said casing for exposing said circles of figures successively to view through the slot in said casing.
2. A counter comprising a casing having a long and short slot therein, a disc rotatably arranged in said casing and having figures arranged thereon in concentric circles and passing said long slot with the rotation of said disc, a plate having a series of opening therein in stepped form and interposed between the front of said casing and said disc, means for rotating said disc to move the individual figures on each circle in succession past said long slot through said casing, means for moving said plate to bring the openings therethrough in successive register with the long slot in said casing, means for moving said plate on each revolution of said disc to bring the openings therethrough in successive register with said long slot, a second disc having a circle of numbers arranged thereon and visible through said short slot, and means for bringing the successive numbers of said second disc into view through said short slot with each revolution of said first-mentioned disc.
3. A counter comprising a casing having a slot in the front thereof, a shaft journalled in said casing, a disc fixedly mounted on said shaft and having figures arranged thereon in a plurality of concentric circles, a cam fixedly mounted on said shaft, a cam lever pivotally secured in said casing and spring-held against said cam, a segmental plate pivotally secured at one end thereon in said casing and extending between said disc and the slotted side of said casing and having a series of stepped openings therethrough registering in succession with the slot in said casing, a rack bar operatively connecting said rack bar with said cam lever.
4. In a device of the class described the combination with a rotatable counting disc and a segmental plate having a series of stepped openings therethrough and moving past the face of said counting disc, of means operated on the rotation of said disc for intermittently moving said plate across the face thereof.
5. In a device of the class described the combination with a rotatable counting disc and a segmental plate having a series of stepped openings therethrough and moving past the face of said counting disc, of a bracket plate having a vertical slot towards the upper end thereof and a substantially triangular-shaped cam slot toward the lower end thereof, a cam finger pivotally secured towards the lower end thereof in said cam slot and spring-held at the upper end thereof to one side of said cam slot, a rack bar guided in its movement at the upper end thereof in said vertical slot and having a pin extending laterally therefrom into said cam slot between the edge thereof and said cam finger, a spring normally retaining said rack bar to its raised position, means operatively connecting said rack bar with said segmental plate and a dog lever reciprocatorily actuated by the rotation of said disc and engaging with the teeth of said rack bar.
6. In a device of the class described the combination with a rotatably counteding disc and a segmental plate having a series of stepped opening therethrough and moving past the face of said counting disc, of a bracket plate having a vertical slot toward the upper end thereof and a substantially triangular-shaped camp slot toward the lower end thereof, a cam finger pivotally secured toward the lower end thereof in said cam slot and psring-held at the upper end thereof to one side of said cam slot, a rack bar guided in its movement at the upper end thereof in said vertical slot and having a pin extending laterally therefrom into said cam slot between the edge thereof and said cam finger, a spring normally retaining said rack bar to said raised position, a cam rotatable with said disc, a cam lever reciprocatorily actuated by said cam and a dog member carried by said cam lever and spring-held into engagement with the teeth of said rack bar.
7. In a device of the class described the combination with a rotatable counting disc and a segmental plate having a series of stepped openings therethrough and moving past the face of said counting disc, of a bracket plate having a vertical slot towards the upper end thereof and a substantially triangular-shaped cam slot towards the lower end thereof, a cam finger pivotally secured towards the lower end thereof in said cam slot and spring-held at the upper end thereof to one side of said cam slot, a rack bar guided in its movement at the upper end thereof in said vertical slot and having a pin extending laterally therefrom into said cam slot between the edge thereof and said cam finger, a spring normally retaining said rack bar to its raised position, means operatively connecting said rack bar with said segmental plate and a dog lever reciprocatorily actuated by the rotation of said disc and engaging with the teeth of said rack bar, a second toothed counting disc having a toothed periphery and figured arranged in a circle on the face thereof and a spring-held dog operatively connected to said cam finger and engaging with the teeth of said last-mentioned disc.
