Alberta Online Encyclopedia

One of Grant MacEwan's favorite topics was writing biographies on many of the great figures of early western Canadian history who have largely been overlooked and forgotten. In this section of Grant MacEwan's Prairie West, we shed light on some of these fascinating characters. Macewan's biographies are story telling at its finest. Filled with humour and adventure the author provides his readers with vivid accounts of some of western Canada's most dynamic individuals. Each individual excelled in a different capacity, from a newspaper mogul to an agriculturalist. Their careers were varied; however, all of the subjects share similar characteristics: idealism, determination, and passion to succeed.
