Ever since Grant was a young boy he was putting his thoughts and experiences to paper. His journals span six decades in the life and career of one of western Canada's greatest statesman. His own personal writings allow for a rare glimpse into his heart and mind. Writing before he was even a teenager his detailed journals provide readers with insight into his daily affairs.
The journals included here have been scanned and digitized by the Heritage Community Foundation with the approval of the MacEwan family. The three volumes are digital reproductions of his original journals and have not been altered in any way. His journal entries begin with a family tree of the MacEwan family and continue well into his career as a consummate politician. The journal entries included here are divided into three volumes.
In addition to this fine collection readers can read Max Foran's intimate interpretations of these journals. Foran, MacEwan's son-in-law, has edited MacEwan's journals to provide readers with a clearer picture of the man himself and the events that surrounded his life.
