Bogart, Mount

Dr. Donaldson Bogart Dowling (1858– 1925) was a geologist with the GSC. He was an assistant to George M. Dawson in the 1880s and worked with the GSC into the 1920s. He did a great deal of survey work in the southern prairies and into the Rockies and was especially noted for his exploratory work in the area of coal and petroleum. According to P-NofA (1928), the name was applied to the mountain in 1904. See Dowling Lake. |
