Haig Glacier

Sir Douglas Haig (1861-1928) was a British Field Marshal and Commander-in-Chief of the British Forces in France during most of the First World War. He was given an Earldom in 1919. After the war, Haig devoted himself to the welfare of ex-servicemen and united various organizations into the British Legion. This glacier was named after him. |
