Bear Canyon

Category : Locality

It has been suggested the name came from the number of grizzly bears that used to frequent the area. As this locality is at the head of a canyon running down to Peace River, this explanation may well be true. A post office was established here in 1959, and the first postmaster was Lois Erickson.

Approximately 133 km north-west of Grande Prairie.
