Amber Valley

Amber Valley is one of largest early black communities in Alberta. In 1911, a group of settlers met their friends and family in a small village north of Edmonton near a bend in the Athabasca River. Amber Valley continued to be a big place for black people to live in Alberta until the 1930s.
