The People

Who are the Métis people? They are traders and interpreters, soldiers and guides, artists and activists. They are prophets and dreamers, but more than that, they are a society and a culture born out of a determined struggle to be recognized.

The individuals listed in this section are only a very small representation of the many Métis who have contributed to Albertan and Canadian cultural and political life. Their stories reflect the vibrant and indefatigable spirit of the Métis people.
