Cowboy

You are probably thinking of the cowboys in the movies that have guns, big hats, and spit big wads of gob out of their mouths. Well the original cowboys were a little different. They were ranch workers that were skilled at roping, roundups, and riding horses. Many Canadian cowboys came to the prairies from the United States while others were from Britain. Over the years the cowboy has become a symbol and legend of life in the west. Hollywood has made many movies about these people!
