Estonian, Settlement

Estonia is a country that is located in Europe on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. People from Estonia came to Canada for political reasons. Those who ended up in the province of Alberta settled in communities such as Eckville and Stettler because there were already Estonians living there. They could share in familiar traditions, speak their native language and find a sense of belonging with their neighbours from the old country.
