Food Webs

This not a spider web made of food! That would be a funny thing to see though. If you look at a spider web you can see that it is all woven together. So are food webs.

Food webs are very tough to understand, and scientists have yet to discover all the ways that they work. A simple version of the food web would work like this: plant grows, animal eats plant, animal eats animal who ate plant, both animal and plants die, who are in turn eaten by smaller plants and animals, who change this organic material back into organic compounds in soil that can be used again by plants. Everything in a food web is connected just like a spider's web.
