Garbage

Humans make a lot of garbage! Do you ever wonder what happens to your garbage after the truck takes it away? It goes to a place we call a "landfill." You might have heard other people call it a DUMP. A landfill is a big hole in the ground that gets "filled" with garbage. At the end of each day all the garbage at the landfill is covered with a layer of soil. When the landfill is full, clay is packed on top so that water or air cannot get to it. The clay is then covered with "fill" (poor grade soil) and a top layer of soil to help grass grow there again. Now we try to recycle our garbage into other things so that we don't damage the environment as much. Do your part and try to recycle as much as you can.
