Great Plains Toad

In Alberta, Great Plains Toads live in the dry grasslands in the southeast corner of the province. This Toad can measure anywhere from 4.5 centimetres to 11 centimetres in length. World Wildlife Fund Canada has reported that the Great Plains Toads are in danger of dying out in Alberta.

These Toads like to hang out in clear ponds found in flooded fields and ditches. They will not lay their eggs in muddy water. The Great Plains Toad enjoys eating beetles, ants, and spiders.
