Hunter, Vern

In November of 1946 Vern Hunter became famous for finding oil in Leduc, Alberta. Vern was born in Nanton, Alberta and worked in the oil industry all of his life. Most people become famous because they are good at something. Although Vern Hunter was a good driller, he didn't find a lot of oil. Because of this he got the nickname "Dry Hole" Hunter. When he found oil in Leduc in 1946, the oil business in Alberta changed forever, and Vern Hunter became an oil super hero!
