Noble, Charles

Charles Noble was a famous Alberta farmer and inventor. He moved to Claresholm, Alberta in 1903 from the United States. Charles Noble invented the Noble Drill, a machine used for planting. Then in 1936, he built the Noble Blade. This tool did not bury all the plant remains, but left some on the surface to protect the soil. These inventions helped farmers work the land better. For his work he received a honourary degree from the University of Alberta in1943. Charles Noble died in Lethbridge on July 5, 1957.
