Northern Leopard Frog

This little frog is an endangered species in Alberta. That means that they are in danger of disappearing. They like to breed and winter in different spots. They usually breed in shallow and warm ponds. They are they only frogs in Alberta that can, and do, spend winter in water. Overwintering frogs require water with lots of air, and a pond that won’t freeze all the way to the bottom.
