Peigan Nation

The Peigan are a First Nations group who live in southern Alberta. They are part of a larger group called the Blackfoot Confederacy. A confederacy is a combination of people. The tribe in Canada are called the North Peigan, and the tribe in Montana (USA) are called the South Peigan. By themselves, the North Peigans are the smallest Blackfoot tribe to sign a treaty agreement with the Canadian government, but together with their fellow Peigans in Montana they form the largest tribe in the Confederacy.
