People and Politics

What would politics in Alberta, or anywhere in the world, be without people? Politics is not just something that happens! It takes hard working men and women to make social and political change happen. Some of these people are politicians who work on making and changing laws. Others are ordinary people who want to make a difference in their lives and in the lives of their fellow citizens. These people work at government from outside the Legislative Assembly to get the results they want.

The people elect politicians into office. The job of the politician is to represent the interests and desires of the people that elected them. People are not separate from the political process, they ARE the political process!
