Piping Plover

This bird likes to live along the shores of lakes, which means that is considered a shore bird. The Plover has a round head, straight bill, and large pointed wings. Right now in Canada and Alberta they are at risk of dying out, meaning they are an endangered species. The Piping Plover builds its nest on the ground and hides its eggs well.
