Plains Spadefoot

The Plains Spadefoot is a nocturnal (only comes out at night) toad that spends most of its life underground. They like to live in dry areas. They do not like the cold, so they use their back feet to dig below the frost line in the winter. At night when they come out to look for food, they go after flies, moths, beetles, and spiders.
