Rutherford, Alexander

Alexander Rutherford, a liberal (political group), was the first premier of Alberta. This means he was in charge of the provincial government. He was also responsible for starting the University of Alberta in Edmonton. The library at the University of Alberta is named in his honour and his house, Rutherford House, is a museum on campus.
