Communism

In 1848, Karl Marx and Frederich Engels published The Communist Manifesto, in which they predicted the overthrow of the middle class, by the working class. Their writings greatly influenced the course of history in Russia starting in 1917 and in other countries after World War II. Even in Canada, Marx and Engels' theories had a profound if short-lived influence.

Communism supports a classless society in which private ownership of factories and agriculture is no more. The community, or the people will own the means of production.
